Advertising Slogan Hall of Fame

The Advertising Slogan Hall Of Fame recognises excellence and best practice in advertising, benchmarking creativity - identifying the best in branding.  The Advertising Slogan Hall of Fame now recognizes 125 lines as members, ranging from ‘Let your fingers do the walking’ to ‘Heineken refreshes the parts other beers cannot reach,’ to ‘We try harder,’ to ‘If you’ve got it, flaunt it.’

Undeniably the most famous advertising slogan of them all. The Heinz slogan was penned in a London pub in 1967 by Young & Rubicam's then deputy creative director, Maurice Drake. The jingle went "A million housewives every day, pick up a can of beans and say, Beanz Meanz Heinz." The slogan was only dropped after thirty years when Heinz wanted to ensure its brand was synonymous with more than just baked beans. However, the slogan was reintroduced for a campaign in 2009.

Mr Drake, the slogan's author, commented: "I still find it incredible that over 40 years later, the seemingly timeless slogan continues to have relevance and brand power, still appealing to different generations in an ever-changing world."
